Missed Bins
We aim to collect all waste and recycling containers: bins and boxes, on their scheduled collection day. However, in some cases your bin / box may have been missed, or we were unable to collect it.
Reasons why your bin / box may have been missed
We are sorry if your bin was missed. This may have happened if:
- Our bin lorry has broken down
- Bad weather stopped us collecting your bin
- Road works stopped us from accessing your bin
- Poor vehicle parking stopped us from accessing your bin
If we have missed your bin/ box for any of these reasons listed above, you do not need to report this missed, as our collection teams report all these issues. Our waste vehicles are fitted with CCTV. We may check CCTV footage to investigate.
Reasons why we may not have collected your bin / box:
- It was not placed out on time. As collection times can vary, we recommend placing your container out by 7:00am and leaving it out until 8:00pm.
- It contained the wrong materials. To make sure you're using the correct bin, box, or caddy for your waste, please visit Which bin should I use?
- Your collection fell on a bank or public holiday, when collection days and times may differ. Holiday bin collection arrangements

- If any of the above apply unfortunately we will not collect your bin until your next scheduled collection day.
Report a missed bin / box collection
If your bin or box is missed, you have 72 hours from 3.30pm on the day of collection to report it.
For example: if your collection day is Monday, you can report your missed bin between 3.30pm on Monday until 3.30pm on Thursday.
Please wait until after 3.30pm of the same day your bin /box is due for collection to . There may be a delay in reaching the end of the route that will make collection times later than you may be expecting.
Who can report a missed bin / box?
A missed bin / box can only be reported by a resident at the property or someone connected with the property.

Why can't I report a missed bin / box?
If you have come to this page it is likely that you may not be able to report a missed bin / box for one of a few reasons:
- It is not yet 3.30pm on your collection day
- It has been more than 72 hours since your collection day
- Your bin or box was contaminated (wrong waste put in the wrong bin type)
- Your bins or box were not placed on the kerbside or at a collection point
- Our crews didn't have access at the time of collection
- Your bin or box was overloaded
- You put the wrong bin or box at the kerbside or collection point
