Please note that we have amended our Statement of Community Involvement and it was agreed by the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) in December 2025. The SCI has been updated to include reference to privacy notices, and also to the consideration of Local Policies Plan launch stage. Please see the PDF copy below.

Community involvement is an integral part of the planning process. As the local planning authority, the Council is required to publish a SCI to show how people can become involved in the planning process. 

Our SCI sets out how the Council intends to engage with the public, stakeholders and Government Departments in exercising its planning functions: preparing the Local Development Plan, deciding planning applications in the Borough, pursuing planning enforcement, and other planning matters.
