Ulster-Scots Talks & Events Grants are available to assist Ulster-Scots heritage-based talks and events that take place in the Ards and North Down Borough between 1 October 2026 and 31 March 2027

Ulster-Scots Talks and Events Fund

The Ards and North Down Borough Council's Ulster-Scots Talks and Events Funding is designed to assist publicly-accessible Ulster-Scots heritage talks and events which take place in the North Down and Ards District.

Who can apply?

Constituted historical societies and heritage-interest groups located in the borough, or Ulster-Scots heritage talks and events that are of benefit to residents within the borough.

What is available?

A maximum grant of £125 for a talk and £250 for an event is available.

Application Deadline:

Tuesday 1 September at 12noon.

Heritage Project Grant

Ards and North Down Borough Council's Heritage Project Funding is designed to assist heritage events, projects or activities, which take place in the North Down and Ards District.

The strategic objectives of Ards and North Down Borough Council's Arts & Heritage Department in supporting non-profit making organisations to deliver heritage projects are:

- To improve understanding, knowledge and enjoyment of local heritage
- To disseminate information about local heritage
- To promote and encourage heritage development and skills in the community
- To support well-being through heritage-based activity
- To ensure quality heritage experiences and best practice

A maximum grant of £500 is available.
