The annual Volunteer Celebration and Recognition Event took place during Volunteer Week and brought together individuals representing a wide range of community groups and organisations from across the Borough. The evening created a vibrant and positive atmosphere, with attendees enjoying the opportunity to connect, network and celebrate their shared commitment to community service.

The event allowed an opportunity for volunteers to build relationships and share experiences.

In his first official engagement of the year, the Mayor of Ards and North Down attended the event and personally presented certificates to each volunteer.

The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Craig Blaney said:
"It is a privilege to recognise the outstanding contribution of volunteers here in our Borough.
Their dedication, compassion and commitment are the foundation of our communities. This celebration event is an opportunity to thank each of you for the difference you make every day - your work does not go unnoticed, and it is deeply appreciated."

The strong turnout of over 90 volunteers highlights the continued growth and resilience of community spirit. It also shows the vital role volunteers play in supporting and enhancing life in Ards and North Down, while reaffirming the Borough's commitment to recognising and supporting ongoing contributions.
