Awake the Garden Week brings nature, creativity and community to Bangor Castle Walled Garden

Bangor Castle Walled Garden will burst into life from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 March with Awake the Garden, a five‑day celebration of nature, creativity and the rich diversity of the local community.

Across the week, visitors can enjoy a vibrant programme of events ranging from spring floristry competitions and community cinema to hands‑on workshops, music, crafts and family‑friendly nature activities.

On Wednesday 25 March, Bangor Horticultural Society will fill the garden with spring colour during the Open Daffodil and Flower Arranging Competitions, hosted in the marquee. Entry is free and open to everyone.

The community comes together again on Friday 27 March for a screening of Grow Your Own, the uplifting British comedy celebrating gardening, belonging and community life. The film will be followed by a short talk exploring how to build an inclusive, welcoming borough for all.

The celebrations conclude on Saturday 28 March, when the Walled Garden becomes a hive of activity with music, storytelling, planting demonstrations, bug hunts, craft workshops and family experiences. It's a chance for residents and visitors to explore, create and connect in one of Bangor's most cherished green spaces.

Awake the Garden Week invites everyone to step into spring, discover something new, and celebrate the power of growing together.
