Get Ready for Christmas in Conway Square, Newtownards!

Ards and North Down Borough Council invites everyone to join in the festive fun this year at Christmas in Conway Square, a two-day programme that promises something for everyone.

On Friday 28 November (11am - 7pm) and Saturday 29 November (10am - 7pm), Newtownards will come to life with music, markets and merriment. Enjoy family friendly entertainment, Christmas cheer, and plenty of shopping to get you into the holiday spirit.
Christmas lights will go on, Friday at 4pm.

Organised in partnership with Ards and North Down Borough Council and Newtownards Chamber of Trade, highlights include:

Christmas Market (Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November)

The town will be immersed in the magic of the season for this two-day event which will welcome a Christmas Market and bar into Conway Square over both days. (Charges apply to stall purchases.)

Make Saturday your ultimate festive experience in Newtownards! From morning till evening, Conway Square and beyond will be buzzing with Christmas magic.

The Newtownards Christmas Passport (Saturday 29 November only, 10am - 3pm)

Step into the magic of Christmas with our Festive Trail - a journey packed with family fun, tasty treats, and delightful surprises at 13 amazing local businesses and attractions.

Pick up your passport at any participating business and begin the trail. Enjoy fun activities, treats and goodies for all at any of the 13 participating businesses or attractions. Get your passport stamped as you go and enjoy lots of festive fun. You are free to follow your own order in the trail and go to where you please, when you please.

 Come and Meet Paddington™ (Saturday 29 November only)

Everyone's favourite marmalade-loving bear, Paddington, will be making special appearances at intervals throughout the day, between 11am and 3.30pm. Don't forget to have your phone ready - it's the perfect chance to capture a photo with Paddington!

 Christmas Crafts at the Arts Centre - Saturday 29 November (10am-7pm)
Enjoy a festive, Paddington-themed, family-friendly day featuring a Christmas Postbox, an installation celebrating kindness and creativity. Activities include making recycled-paper postcards, contributing to a collaborative mural of doodles and messages, and snapping selfies with a giant post-box and suitcase prop!

The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Gillian McCollum, said:
"This year we have worked hard to curate a programme of exciting festive activities that will bring people together, celebrating the spirit of the season and supporting local businesses with an exciting festive trail that you can enjoy at your own pace."
