Local Action Groups

Stakeholder picture

New Local Action Groups will replace the former Town and City Advisory Groups

Setting out a fresh approach to placemaking and regeneration, the NEW Local Action Groups seek to bring together a diverse range of stakeholders to work collaboratively to develop our towns and city to be economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable, with a focus on placemaking, investment, town/city specific vision and thinking.

The following 5 principles summarise the role of the new Local Action Groups:

  1. A positive force for our towns/ city
  2. A two-way communication hub for all things in relation to our towns and city - information can be shared and disseminated
  3. Town/City specific thinking - strategy development and advice drawn on local knowledge and experience
  4. Positive change - advancing actions
  5. Championing our towns/ city - speaking up for our place and its people, promoting its attributes and potential for investment

Introductory meetings of the new groups will take place in March 2026.

Check back soon to find out more about the new Local Action Groups and get to know the people involved.
