Shaping Donaghadee's Visitor Economy

Podd Consulting has been appointed by Ards and North Down Borough Council to carry out a study to understand the current visitor experience in Donaghadee and explore the potential for tourism development within the town to enhance pride of place, and support long-term economic benefit.

This is aligned to Priority C of the Donaghadee Masterplan - Destination Donaghadee!

The review of the Donaghadee Masterplan, produced in 2023, identifies a set of priorities for Donaghadee Town Centre to be delivered over the next 8 years:

A. Parks for all  

B. Heritage and visitor experience

C. Destination Donaghadee! 

D. Reawakening the harbour

The promotion of Donaghadee as a destination for visitors and investment will help to underpin its success and sustain the local economy.

What would we like to understand from you?

You have the local knowledge of Donaghadee, and we could appreciate if you would share your knowledge and ideas with us, to help us shape a plan, that has been informed by the local people of the town.

Two public drop-in sessions are being held on Wednesday 11 February 2026 in Donaghadee Community Centre from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
