Led by the Money and Pensions Service, this year's campaign theme, "It all counts," highlights how small actions can make a big difference. Whether it's checking benefit entitlements, speaking to a lender early, starting to save, making a pension contribution, or simply talking to someone about a money concern, every step matters.

Talk Money Week aims to get people talking more openly about money, helping them feel informed, confident and in control of their finances.

Residents are also encouraged to join a free online event on Tuesday 3 November, from 10am to 4pm, covering topics including budgeting, energy costs, scams, debt, benefits, food banks and planning ahead, with practical advice to help make money go further.

Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Craig Blaney, said:

"I encourage residents to take advantage of the resources available during Talk Money Week, particularly the online event. The campaign highlights the value of open conversations about money and the role these discussions can play in helping people feel more confident about their finances.

It's also important that children and young people develop positive money habits from an early age, learning skills such as saving, budgeting and making informed spending decisions."

Oliver Morley, Chief Executive at the Money and Pensions Service, says:

"Actions to improve your finances don't have to be big or complicated to make a difference. That's why, as part of our annual Talk Money Week campaign, we're reminding people that when it comes to money, it all counts.

Whether it's simply talking through a money worry with a friend, putting a little aside when you can or shopping around to get a better deal on your bills, every step can help. "Small actions matter and however simple they may seem, this is the chance for everyone to feel more confident and in control of their money."
