The evening's performers delivered an atmosphere filled with warmth, energy and joy. The audience was treated to outstanding sets from Ards Comhaltas, Bangor Ladies Choir, Jackie Rainey and Emma D Drummer, Genevieve McCollum and Molly Terrins, Bangor Ukes, Donaghadee Male Voice Choir, Bangor Grammar School Jazz Band, Orchardville Band and Makaton Choir.

From traditional Irish melodies to expressive choral harmonies, jazz rhythms and community‑driven performances, each group brought something unique to the stage. Applause filled the venue throughout the evening  - a testament to the performers' passion and the deep appreciation felt across the audience.

The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Gillian McCollum, expressed her delight at the overwhelming support:

"This concert didn't just meet expectations  - it exceeded them in the most beautiful way. Looking out across the room and seeing people of every age, background and walk of life, united in music and joy was profoundly moving. It was a reminder of the heart of this Borough - generous, welcoming and full of spirit.

The theme of Belonging has shaped my Mayoral year, and during the concert it felt as though that message came to life beautifully. I am truly humbled. To every performer who shared their talent, every volunteer who gave their time, and every person who bought a ticket: thank you. Your kindness will make a real and lasting difference across our Borough."

All proceeds from the concert will go directly to the Mayor's three chosen charities, each of which provides essential support across the Borough:

  • Orchardville - empowering individuals with learning disabilities and autism
  • St Vincent de Paul - supporting local families experiencing hardship
  • Women's Aid North Down and Ards - providing safety and refuge for women and children

Representatives from all three organisations attended the concert and expressed their gratitude for the community's generosity and solidarity.

The Mayor's Charity Concert proved to be far more than an evening of entertainment - it was a demonstration of kindness, unity and what can be achieved when a community stands together.

Ards and North Down Borough Council extends warm thanks to Bangor Elim Church for hosting, to every performer and volunteer who gave their time and talent, and to the public for showing such enthusiastic support.
