Ards and North Down Borough Council's Labour Market Partnership (LMP) will host a Disability Employment and Support Day in Bangor Aurora Aquatic and Leisure Complex on Thursday 26 February from 1pm-4pm.

Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities, and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.

The Disability Employment and Support Day is an initiative designed to support employers and potential employees. It is free to attend and will feature around 20 exhibitors offering programmes and support packages. They will be on hand to provide advice to employers as well as those who have a disability or neurodiverse condition, or to their parents, guardians and carers.

The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Gillian McCollum, said:
"This event is a fantastic opportunity for employers and individuals to access advice, programmes, and support that can make a real difference in creating inclusive workplaces. I encourage everyone to come along and explore the resources available to help remove barriers and open doors to employment for all."

NOW Group participant, Chris Lindsay said:
"I completed an accredited training course in Progression to Employment as part of the LMP Academy for People with Disabilities and would say it really helped me at a time where I was uncertain of the future. I gained valuable skills and knowledge, as well as confidence that I will find the right path for me in the near future."

Attendees are warmly welcome to come along to find out more about employment options, programmes, benefits and assistance to both employers and employees.
