About the Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex
Individuals and families across the Borough will soon be able to take advantage of a brand new state-of-the art wellbeing and leisure complex that is scheduled to open this winter.
An investment of more than £30 million has been made by Ards and North Down Borough Council to deliver the most modern and advanced leisure amenities including: contemporary gym and fitness studios, luxury spa with sensory areas; holistic and beauty therapies; six lane main pool and minor pool with moveable floors, a splash play area for toddlers and young children; a soft play area and blacklight adventure zone as well as a vibrant new 100 seat café.
There will also be an innovative astro turf area called the Dome offering a range of marked spaces for games and sports. Focused on sports development activities for schools and the wider community it will help develop skills in a conducive indoor environment. A Diversity Play Zone with sensory garden, Pump Track for biking and Wheel Park for skateboarding, scooters, BMX and inline skating will feature in the outdoor space at the complex.
The complex, which is on schedule, will open to the public in December seven days a week with extended opening hours.
The overall look of the centre has been developed to complement existing facilities at Bangor Aurora Aquatic and Leisure Complex, Comber Leisure Centre, Portaferry Sports Centre, Londonderry Park and Queens Leisure Complex in Holywood. The Complex is fully accessible for the disabled providing a comprehensive range of equipment.
