Summer Schemes Update

Thank you to everyone who has registered for summer schemes so far: an update regarding availability is below.

George Green: this scheme is now fully subscribed for both age groups, with those who didn’t get a place added to a waiting list. 

Redburn: spaces on this scheme now extremely limited. Staff will be available Wednesday 8 May from 6pm - 7pm to allocate final spaces and open a reserve waiting list.

West Winds: this scheme is now extremely limited, with those who didn't get a place added to a waiting list. Staff will be available from Thursday 9 May 6pm - 7pm to allocate final spaces and add to waiting list.

Ballygowan: this scheme is now fully subscribed, with those who didn't get a place added to a waiting list. Staff will be available from 6pm - 7pm Thursday 9 May to add to waiting list.

Portavogie: there are still some spaces available for both junior and senior schemes. Staff will be available Friday 10 May from 6pm - 7pm to allocate remaining places and open a reserve waiting list if required.

Volunteer At Community Summer Schemes From 23 July – 9 August

Ards and North Down's Community Summer Play Schemes will run from  23 July 2019 - 9 August 2019 on weekdays from 10am - 3pm.

When, Where and How?
Registration for schemes will take place at the following Community Centres at the dates and times below

Please Note: - Evening registrations will only occur where there are places still available.

Registration forms and Parents Information leaflet will ONLY be available on day of registration at each centre. Only those with Parental Responsibility (Legal Parents/Guardians) and residewithin the Borough can complete these consent forms. Please bring relevant documentation, ON THE DAY, for proof of age and address E.g. Birth Certificate, Utility Bill – your child’s place will not be confirmed until these documents are provided.

What activities will be included?

​Each scheme will have a varied programme of activities and events:

• Arts & Crafts

• Games

• Trips

• Forest walks and bug hunts

• Street hockey/bowls

• Beach walks and games

• ARC 21

• Bouncy castle

• Cookery

• Dancing

How much does it cost?

Full Cost Week 1 - £20 Concession Cost Week 1 - £10

Full Cost Week 2 - £25 Concession Cost Week 2 - £12.50

Full Cost Week 3 - £25 Concession CostWeek 3 - £12.50

Concession rates apply to those families in receipt of:

• Income Support

• Income Based Employment Support allowance

• Income based job seekers allowance

• Pension credit/guaranteed pension credit

When registering more than 2 children at a scheme you are eligible for concession rate for the third and subsequent children in the family.

How do I register my child(ren)?

Registration sessions will take place at the Community Centres from 7-10 May: please see list above for exact dates and times.

Places are available on first come first served basis for children who reside in the Borough.

Only those with Parental Responsibility (legal parents/guardians) and reside within the Borough can complete the consent forms. Please bring relevant documentation, ON THE DAY, for proof of age and address E.g. Birth Certificate, Utility Bill – your child’s place will not be confirmed until these documents are provided.
