Summer Scheme Update 19.06.2020

Unfortunately due to the COVID19 pandemic, it will not be possible to run our summer schemes this year. We appreciate the disappointment this will cause and hope to see a return to normal service in summer 2021.

When, Where and How?
Registration for Summer Scheme 2020 will take place at the following Community Centres:

Registration forms and Parents Information leaflet will ONLY be available on day of registration at each centre. Only those with Parental Responsibility (Legal Parents/Legal Guardians) and reside within the borough can complete these consent forms.

Please bring relevant documentation, ON THE DAY, for proof of age and address e.g. Birth certificate, utility bill – your child’s place will not be confirmed until these documents are provided.

Who are the summer schemes for?

​Children who are in school, in classes P1 - P7

What activities will be included?

​Each scheme will have a varied programme of activities and events:

• Arts & Crafts

• Games

• Trips

• Forest walks and bug hunts

• Street hockey/bowls

• Beach walks and games

• ARC 21

• Bouncy castle

• Cookery

• Dancing

How much does it cost?

Full Cost Week 1 - £20 Concession Cost Week 1 - £10

Full Cost Week 2 - £25 Concession Cost Week 2 - £12.50

Full Cost Week 3 - £25 Concession CostWeek 3 - £12.50

Concession rates apply to those families in receipt of:

• Income Support

• Income Based Employment Support allowance

• Income based job seekers allowance

• Pension credit/guaranteed pension credit

When registering more than two children at full cost at a scheme you are eligible for concession rate for the third and subsequent children in the family.

As Universal Credit is rolling out the qualification concession rate may change. This section will be updated in due course.

How do I register my child(ren)?

Registration Sessions for Summer Scheme 2020 will take place at the local Community Centres, dates to be confirmed. All locations can be found above under the ‘When, Where and How?’ section.

Places are available on first come first served basis for children who reside in the Borough.Only adults with Parental Responsibility may complete and sign registration forms. Please read the below for more info.

Parental Responsibility: What is it?

This is the legal definition for who can give consent for a child to attend our activities. The full definition is set out in the Children (NI) Order 1995.

Who can give consent for my child to attend activities?

According to the definition the following can sign consent forms for our activities

• Always the mother

• Only the father if the name is stated on the child’s birth certificate or has legal documents to prove they are the father.

• Legal Guardians, these are people who also have legal documents proving responsibility for the child.

Who cannot sign consent forms?

• Anyone who is not on the list above or who does not have a legal document to prove responsibility for example;

Grandparents, Step Parents, Aunties, Uncles & Child minders
