Positive Ageing Month

Every year, Positive Ageing Month is celebrated in October, and it is a month-long campaign of events, activities and programmes that promote positive ageing as well as celebrating the contribution older people make to their communities. Ards and North Down is recognised as having an ageing population, meaning that the demographic profile will change significantly over the next 10- 20 years. It is for us all to consider how best to support the older people in our communities and also how to best celebrate their contribution to community life.

These five steps built into our daily lives can help maintain and improve our health and emotional well-being. There is a wide range of activities available providing older people with an opportunity to try something new or simply reconnect with others. Some of the events require pre-booking so please read through what is on offer and check with the organiser in advance of the dates to ensure there have been no further amendments made.
