Property certificates

Building Control service administers property certificates.

The Building Regulations specify minimum standards covering health, safety and welfare for all buildings (private, commercial and public). The property certificate service enables a prospective purchaser (or their solicitor) to find out if any work carried out on the property has been approved and meets the statutory requirements.

Part of the service involves a check being undertaken to identify any outstanding breaches of the statutory requirements, and if the council has taken or intends to take any legal action.

Due to difficulties in processing post currently we would encourage any Property Certificate applications to be made online, this will allow processing to take place. Please be aware that turn around will be dependent on many departments within Council and some may not be completed until normal service resumes. If you have any queries in relation to making online Property Certificate application, please contact karen.neill@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk

Thank you for your understanding at this time.
