Applications

Building Control applications are still being received, processed and assessed. Building Notice and Regularisation applications can be made online via the link on this website using card payments or by post using cheque payments.

Full Plan applications can be made by post with cheque payments or by bank transfer. No telephone card payments can be processed at this time.

There is currently no public access to the Council buildings, so all hard copy applications should be made by post. The Building Control office can be contacted by email at buildingcontrol@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk 

Inspections - Limited Inspections available

Limited ‘Open Air’ inspections and the completion of unoccupied new builds, will be available from Tuesday 26 May 2020.  These inspections would include Foundation excavations, Drainage, Subfloors, and roof structure where the inspection can be accessed without passing through existing occupied buildings.

Completion inspections of unoccupied new builds can be carried out where all other persons are removed from the building before and for the duration of the inspection, and doors and windows are left open.

Due to reduced staff numbers and to help us to deliver the service required, please request inspections on the morning of the day before inspection is required. 

For all other inspections, we would ask that you email the office at 
buildingcontrol@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk with inspection requests and any photographs that you can provide at the time inspection is due, along with you name and contact telephone number. An officer will then contact you

This situation will be kept under review and may change depending on government, industry and Council guidance. Please watch this website for any updates on the inspection service.

Property Certificates

Whilst postal property certificates are being accepted,due to difficulties in processing post currently we would encourage any Property Certificate applications to be made online, this will allow processing to take place. Please be aware that turn around will be dependant on many departments within the Council and may at this time take slightly longer than normal.
