Ordering a bin, glass recycling box or kitchen caddy


If your bin is missing, stolen, or you have moved into a new property and bin(s) are not in place, you need to place an order with us.  

To order a grey bin / blue bin / brown bin / kitchen caddy / glass recycling box / or home composter please contact us on 0300 013 3333 (option 1) or email recycling@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk (please provide your name, address (including postcode) and telephone number so that your request can be processed as quickly as possible).

Charges 

A full set of bins/ containers is provided to all new build properties free of charge ('new build' is defined as an address where a property did not previously exist before and is applicable from the change in Council Policy for the Provision of Kerbside Household Waste Collection Services, Version 6 - July 2021).

All other requests for a new replacement bin will be charged at the prices listed in the table below.  Please note a delivery charge is no longer applied. 

Currently the larger 360ltr blue bin is being prioritised for: 

  • households with six or more people permanently residing in the property  
  • residents with a medical condition/disability that generates additional waste 

If your household does not meet the above criteria, you can still request a larger 360ltr blue bin and this will be considered as resources are available.  

Glass boxes and kitchen caddies are supplied free of charge.

Bin Clips

Bin clips are available to purchase for £4.00 in both receptions at the Town Hall, Bangor and Church Street, Newtownards. Please note, they can only be fitted to wheeled bins with a conventional type handle. These are designed to keep the lid closed but will automatically open when the bin is being emptied into the lorry using the weight of the waste.
