Holywood Culture Night forms part of Good Relations Week
This Friday’s Holywood Culture Night is providing a focal point for Good Relations Week (16-22 September) in Ards and North Down…
The family-friendly and FREE event takes place in Church Road car park, just a few minutes’ walk from Holywood train station, with a host of activities making the area come alive!
A busking competition will run during the afternoon before the scheduled 5.30pm start time for the family fun. There will be performances on the live stage with a range of music and dancing plus there will be lots of fun to be had with singing games, acting, yoga, photography, drumming, dancing, painting and even some film screenings!
The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Alderman Bill Keery, said:
“At the Council, we place a lot importance on the stability and wellbeing of our communities throughout the borough. So it’s great to bring so many people from across the town together for this community event.”
“Culture Night in Holywood is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our local artistic talent and to give the chance for young people to try their hand at being creative too. The Council is delighted to be involved with this year’s event and it’s my pleasure to wish everyone a great Culture Night in Holywood.”
The event, which is organised by the Holywood Shared Town community group, is part-funded by Ards and North Down Borough Council together with the Northern Ireland Executive as well as local businesses. It is open to everyone to attend and will run from 5.30-7.30pm. There will also be an ‘After 8’ event for adults with performances at Holywood Yacht Club.
