Event Cancellations

Information about Council event cancellations during the official period of mourning following the death of Her Majesty The Queen

Following the sad news of the death of the sovereign Queen Elizabeth II, all Council-run events and Council/Committee meetings will be cancelled until the end of the mourning period (with the exception of the Proclamation for the County of Down and the Special Council Meeting to pay tribute to Her Majesty – details to follow) 

This includes:

  • European Heritage Open Day events at Kirkistown Castle on Saturday 10 September, and Bangor Castle tours on Sunday 11 September
  • Cockle Row Children's activities - Saturday 10 September
  • PCSP trailer marking in Newtownards - Saturday 10 September
  • The Gunpowder Store, Donaghadee will be closed
  • Donagahadee Artisan Market (part of Taste Autumn programme) - Saturday 17 September
  • Ticketed Experiences taking place on 17 and18 September: ticket holders will be notified directly.

 Registration Sessions for the Council's Community Development Clubs, due to be held week commencing 12 September, have now been postponed until after the State Funeral of Her Majesty the Queen.
