Event Cancellation - Ards Christmas Markets and Festive Fun
Very regretfully, like a number of other events across Northern Ireland, we are having to cancel tomorrow’s Christmas activities in Newtownards in their entirely because of the forecasted high winds.
We know this will be disappointing for participants, traders and those planning to attend on the day but we must prioritise the safety of staff and visitors.
We are working with our main partners to see if we can reschedule the event for another date. This is dependent on a number of factors including the availability of performers and traders, many of whom already have other commitments in the run-up to Christmas. We will advise further on this as soon as we have information to share.
A big thank you to all partners for their help over the past 24 hours as we have been weather watching and trying to make alternate plans.
Remember - businesses in Newtownards will be open and very ready to welcome you tomorrow if it is safe to travel. Ards Saturday Market will go ahead in Conway Square and roads through the town will be open.
