Enhance your Creative Edge this Autumn
Ards and North Down Borough Council has developed ‘Creative Edge’, a business support programme to help develop and grow the creative and digital industries within the borough.
Creative industries are characterised by, but not limited to; the digital sector, advertising, design, publishing, architecture, crafts, arts, music, screen industries and photography. The Council is keen to develop and support this sector, addressing key outputs such as turnover, export, job generation and capacity development.
We have developed a range of events for those who run or are interested in establishing a new high growth business in this sector.
Event highlights include;
• Digital Cafés – offering creative entrepreneurs the opportunity to network in a relaxed environment, while learning how creative businesses can make their marketing process less time consuming and more accessible through technology (11, 21 November & 3 December)
• Visual Merchandising – learn how strong merchandising can strengthen a creative brand, facilitate ease of sale and allow the appearance of creative products and services to be presented with an appealing market-friendly approach (19 November).
• Sustainability in the Creative Sector – how to design innovative packaging that stands out and doesn’t cost the earth. (22 January)
There will also be opportunities to learn how to ‘Effectively Showcase Your Business’ as well as a number of social media workshops throughout the year.
Mayor of Ards and North Down, Alderman Bill Keery, said:
“Ards and North Down is recognised as having a vibrant creative sector, one that plays an important role in the development of the Borough. By taking part in the new free Creative Edge programme, local creative and digital businesses will have the opportunity to meet with other like-minded people, network and address skills for future development”.
