Easter Message from the Mayor of Ards and North Down

Friday 10th April 2020

An Easter Message from Mayor of Ards and North Down, Alderman Bill Keery, urging everyone in our Borough to #StaySafeStayHome

Stay Home Stay Safe message featuring picture of Donaghadee harbour and lighthouse

As we approach Easter weekend which is traditionally a time for friends and families to get together, can I ask you all to please stay at home this year. This is a critical time in our efforts to combat COVID-19, we all must play our part to save lives and protect the NHS and front line workers.

Please only leave your house for essential reasons. If you are taking daily exercise, remember to do so close to your home whilst practising social distancing. Please don’t be tempted to travel to beauty spots, there will be plenty of time for travelling when this is all behind us. I would also ask parents to please ensure you know where your children are at all times.

It is a difficult time to be separated from loved ones but everyone must obey the rules to slow down the spread of the virus.

Wishing you all a safe and peaceful Easter.

Alderman Bill Keery
