The festive season is upon us and as we approach the end of another remarkable year, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to everyone in Ards and North Down.

Ards and North Down Borough Council launched its Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) earlier this month at an engaging event that saw local schoolchildren learn about the Borough’s biodiversity.
Seven new rapid electric vehicle charging stations have been installed in Ards and North Down with the support of just over €6.4 million of European Union funding from the INTERREG VA programme which is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Match funding has been provided by the Department for Infrastructure (Northern Ireland) and the Department for Transport (Republic of Ireland) and Transport Scotland.
Ards and North Down Borough Council’s Labour Market Partnership has launched a 2023-24 Action Plan that will help to address gaps in employment skills in Ards and North Down.
In May 2017 Ards and North Down Borough Council became a Fairtrade Borough, and we have now renewed our status with Fairtrade UK, retaining our Fairtrade Community Certification.
