It was a wonderful surprise on Christmas Day to see the new City of Bangor feature not once but twice in The King’s Christmas Broadcast.
At the Council meeting on 21 December, Elected Members agreed that the Northern Community Leisure Trust (NCLT) will continue to deliver the management of leisure services that it presently delivers in Ards and North Down for a further 5-year period, until 31 March 2028.
Ards and North Down Borough Council is increasing the number of Chatty Benches in the Borough with four new benches installed at Green Flag sites, helping to support mental health and bring people together.

The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Karen Douglas, enjoyed passenger rides in rally cars around County Down’s Kirkistown Race Circuit last weekend as part of a drive to raise money for charity.
The Princess Royal officially conferred city status on Bangor today in a ceremony at Bangor Castle attended by local business leaders, community representatives and just some of the many organisations that make the new city such a special place.
