COVID-19: Community Engagement
We are overwhelmed with the level of goodwill and the number of communities coming together to support each other at such a challenging time. More than ever we all need to work together to ensure those who are socially isolating, and those without a support network in place, have access to essential supplies such as food and medicine. We know there are a lot of you out there doing amazing work and who are keen to play a role in supporting your communities.
Council has been in constant contact with the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust to co-ordinate our efforts. But we know that we need your help to support those who are vulnerable and most in need.
We need to gather some information to understand the availability of support. Ards and North Down has a strong community and voluntary sector, we also have lots of constituted community organisations. However, we are also aware that lots of localised groups have been informally set up to support their own neighbours. We need information on all of these, and we need to be able to share this information with others. (We will only store these details for the duration of the pandemic and will destroy them when COVID-19 is no longer a threat.)
