Ards and North Down Borough Council is delighted to have been given the great privilege of hosting a 21-Gun Royal Salute on Tuesday 14 November 2017 at The Castle, Bangor to mark the birthday of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.

Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Robert Adair, is delighted to support and participate in this important occasion.

“It is a great honour to be part of the Royal Gun salute and I would encourage members of the public to come along and view the spectacle and mark the 69th birthday of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.”

The 21-Gun Royal Salute will take place on the lawn in front of the Town Hall at Castle Park. The public is invited to view the Salute and all spectators are advised to be at Castle Park Avenue by 11.50am on Tuesday 14 November. Prior to the salute a piper will pipe the Lord-Lieutenant for the County Borough of Londonderry, Dr Angela Garvey, along with invited guests to the viewing area following which the Royal Artillery will fire 21 rounds from three guns at 12noon.

Please note that the car park at the front of Bangor Castle will be closed to the public until 2.30pm on Tuesday 14 November, however, the Town Hall will be open for business as usual.  Car parking will be available but limited at the lower car park.  Car parking will also be available at Bangor Aurora Leisure and Aquatic Complex.
